|
Walking Time makes use of Internet traffic to set pictures in motion. It takes keywords from a search engine in order to generate a dynamic time code. Keywords found stimulate a fast framerate while low traffic causes the pictures to slow down and eventually reverse their sequence. As a result surprising and often amusing situations occur. Strangers begin to move in a seemingly connected ballet, dancing and repeating movements in a pattern that evokes a familiar relationship. See the preview of Walking Time at www.timecode.org For more information on Tom Flemming's work see his website www.tomflemming.com The project is a commission by DA2. The film was launched in Bristol at the Cube Cinema on 20 April 2001 in conjunction with the Momentum Forum on Digital Arts Practice.
