Joseph Hyde has developed an audio video installation Periphery, which is being presented at Watershed from 21 August to 24 September 2000. This installation, a technological 'hall of mirrors', will explore the subliminal illusions of technology in a series of tiny flickering 'blipverts' designed to operate on the edge of the field of vision and the threshold of hearing - 'fleeting instances, images just caught out of the corner of the eye, words on the tip of the tongue and half-remembered songs'.

Joseph will be in residence at Watershed experimenting within the gallery space in June 2000.
