Joseph Hyde has developed an audio video installation Periphery, which is being presented at Watershed from 21 August to 24 September 2000. This installation, a technological 'hall of mirrors', will explore the subliminal illusions of technology in a series of tiny flickering 'blipverts' designed to operate on the edge of the field of vision and the threshold of hearing - 'fleeting instances, images just caught out of the corner of the eye, words on the tip of the tongue and half-remembered songs'. Joseph will be in residence at Watershed experimenting within the gallery space in June 2000. Presented with support from The Arts Council of England, Artists Film and Video, National Fund.
