The Clark/DA2 Digital Artists' Bursary 2000: Afterworld - Simon Poulter The July 2000 saw the launch of Afterworld, by Simon Poulter. Poulter was awarded the annual Clark/DA2 Digital Artists' Bursary but instead of a single exhibition Afterworld was a series of events and 'happenings' that took place over a six month period.

Afterworld looks at the ways that technology is represented, used and consumed, socially and politically. Each month a new aspect will be highlighted and critiqued through a public art work, an event or an activity, from the way that hardware is fetishised to the way that data like ecomonical information is manipulated. The spotlight of Afterworld will be turned on the sacred cows of new-tech society, from dotcom business to powerpoint presentations. Every last Thursday of the month from July to December a new project will be launched. The Afterworld website - www.afterworld.org - will link the different aspects of the project together. Viewers who register on the site will be sent special monthly 'collectibles'. July Afterworld event : the Slacker Table
